09 / FAQ
Common questions
Do I need experience to book a private BJJ lesson?+
No. Most of my students are beginners or early intermediates. A private lesson is actually the fastest way to start, because everything is built around your level from minute one.
How much do BJJ private lessons cost in Brooklyn?+
My rate is $100 per one-hour solo session, or $50 per person if you bring a training partner. That's flat pricing — no packages or commitments.
Where do lessons take place?+
At Darfight Martial Arts, 130 Brighton Beach Ave, 2nd Floor, Brooklyn NY 11235 — right in Brighton Beach.
What should I bring to my first session?+
Comfortable athletic clothes (rash guard and shorts if you have them), water, and flip-flops for walking off the mat. If you have a gi, bring it — but no-gi is fine for your first session.
Gi or no-gi?+
Both. We'll train whichever fits your goals — no-gi if you're leaning toward submission grappling or MMA, gi if you want the full traditional game. Most beginners start no-gi.
When are you available?+
Monday through Thursday 7–9am, Friday 9am–12pm, and Saturday and Sunday 9am–3pm. The Calendly embed on this page shows exact open slots.
How do I get in touch before booking?+
